Weight loss, food, and exercise have been an uphill battle for many many years of my life. I was overweight from the age of 11 until 23 which affected many aspects of life regarding self-confidence and a healthy relationship with food. After a difficult breakup with the man I thought I was going to marry, I lost 50lb by drinking Slim Fast shakes twice a day and skimping on dinner. Going forward I yo-yo'd with food, always knowing I wasn't where I wanted to be but completely unsure of how to get there. I tried intermittent fasting, Weight Watchers, low carb, etc. which all had short-term results yet never a sustainable view towards the future. Joining a gym for the first time in 2018 and being introduced to group fitness was life-changing for me in regard to exercise. I loved the intensity, encouragement and comradery, and felt stronger than I ever had. Even though I could spin faster and push a sled farther than I ever thought, I still lacked the most important aspect which is nutrition. I began working with Ali in March of 2022 as a macro coach and mentor. She taught me how much I was undereating, damaging my metabolism, and challenged me to start looking at my diet and exercise with a completely different lens. I was losing the weight I wanted, but my physique wasn't changing. Once I began lifting weights and let go of the HIIT classes did I start to see change. Having Ali as a macro coach has completely changed how I feel about food, exercise, and what I want to focus on for the rest of my life.
